Side Mount Float Level Switch Reed Switch
The Side Mount Float Level Switch – Reed Switch Type is designed to monitor and control high, low, or intermediate liquid levels in tanks containing corrosive or non-corrosive liquids. It is ideal for pump control, alarms, valve automation, and general liquid level indication in industrial and utility applications.
This switch features a rugged, customized construction with a free-moving hinged float arm. A hermetically sealed reed switch inside the stem is actuated by a magnet housed in the float arm. As the liquid level rises, the float moves upward, causing the magnet to operate the reed switch and close the electrical contact. When the level falls, the float moves down and the contact opens.

Working Principle
The float arm carries a permanent magnet that moves with liquid level variation. A hermetically sealed-in-glass reed switch positioned inside the stem is operated by this magnetic field. When the float rises with increasing liquid level, the magnet actuates the reed switch and closes the contact. When the level drops, the magnet moves away and the contact opens.
Construction
The switch consists of a robust hinged float assembly, non-magnetic stem, and a hermetically sealed reed switch. Enclosures are available in weatherproof or flameproof Cast Aluminum, SS304, and SS316. Float options include SS316 in various diameters for different specific gravity conditions. The design is customized for length, float size, and process connection depending on application.
