The Side Mount Float Level Switch – Micro Switch is designed for reliable monitoring and control of high, low, or intermediate liquid levels in tanks containing corrosive or non-corrosive liquids. It is widely used for pump control, alarms, valve automation, and level indication applications.

This switch features a rugged construction with a hinged float arm and a non-magnetic housing, ensuring uninterrupted magnetic flux. It employs a dual-magnet system—one mounted on the float arm and another on the switch carrier—to deliver instant and precise switching action through magnetic repulsion. The glandless magnetic coupling also assures leak-proof operation.

Working Principle

The switch operates using a dual-magnet repulsion system. As the liquid level changes, the float arm moves and brings the like poles of two magnets close to each other. The resulting repulsive force activates the micro switch inside the enclosure, providing instant SPDT or DPDT contact switching.

Construction

The device consists of a robust hinged float assembly, a non-magnetic switch enclosure, and a leak-proof magnetic coupling. The enclosure is available in weatherproof or flameproof Cast Aluminum, SS304, or SS316. Floats are offered in SS316, PP, or PVDF depending on temperature, pressure, and media compatibility. Long arm, cranked arm, and high-temperature variants are also available.
