Rotating Paddle Level Switch
The Rotating Paddle Level Switch is a robust and cost-effective electro-mechanical device designed for reliable point level detection of dry bulk solids such as powders, granules, pellets, and grains. It provides accurate high or low-level indication in silos, hoppers, bins, and storage vessels, helping to prevent overfilling, material blockage, and process interruptions.
The instrument operates using a slow-speed geared AC motor that continuously rotates a paddle. When the material level rises and restricts paddle movement, the generated torque activates an internal micro-switch to provide a switching output. A magnetic clutch mechanism protects the motor from overload, ensuring long service life even in demanding industrial environments.
Product Share on :Applications

Working Principle
The Rotating Paddle Level Switch consists of a synchronous geared motor that rotates a paddle at a very low speed under normal conditions. When no material is present, the paddle rotates freely without obstruction.
As the material level rises and comes into contact with the paddle, its rotation is restricted. This creates a reaction torque that actuates an internal micro-switch, generating an electrical switching signal. Once the material level drops, the paddle is released and the motor resumes normal rotation, resetting the switch.
Construction
The instrument features a heavy-duty industrial design with a weatherproof cast aluminum enclosure providing IP65 / IP66 protection. The paddle and probe are manufactured from high-quality stainless steel (SS304 / SS316) for excellent resistance to abrasion and corrosion. A magnetic clutch mechanism safeguards the motor from mechanical overload, ensuring reliable long-term operation.
